Distinguish three different features
Pausing a live stream, opening an earlier programme from the guide and recording onto your own device are different functions. A recording button does not prove that the provider offers a catch-up archive. Likewise, different apps may expose an available archive differently. Describe the need clearly: for example, opening yesterday’s programme or pausing the current broadcast for ten minutes.
Check channel and date coverage
Supported channels and available history can differ. Promising the same number of days for every channel would be misleading. If a particular series or sports programme matters, ask about that channel and date range. An electronic programme guide entry provides schedule information; it does not automatically mean the programme can be played again.
Time settings and player compatibility
If selecting a past programme opens the wrong show, check the device time zone and guide time settings first. Manually adding hours can hide one issue while creating mismatches on other channels. Use the login method supported by the account. Obtain any player update from the official source and keep your credentials secure.
Remember the connection allowance
Playing an archived programme may still occupy a streaming session. Opening catch-up on a phone while live television keeps playing can exceed a one-connection package. Stop the other stream first. If TimeShift is central to your Kaptan subscription decision, confirm the relevant channels, device and intended use together before placing the order.
When you want to start partway through a programme
For a missed programme, first check whether the channel supports an archive and whether the date and programme are available. An EPG entry alone does not establish that a recording can be played. Start the archive through the app’s intended menu instead of assuming that dragging backwards on a live timeline works in every player. If playback begins at the wrong point, inspect timezone and guide mapping. Give support the channel, date and programme title together.
Treat pausing and archive access as separate capabilities
Pausing a live stream briefly is different from reopening a programme from an earlier day. The first may depend on player buffering, while the second requires an accessible archive. Rewinding within a VOD film therefore does not establish TimeShift across every live channel. If this feature is decisive for your subscription choice, identify the channel and device before ordering. Respect the single-connection rule while watching an archive instead of leaving live playback running on another device.
FAQ
Can I rewind every channel?
No. It depends on support from the service and player.
Does an EPG mean catch-up is available?
No. A programme guide and an archive are separate features.
